The Bar Harbor Inn

The Bar Harbor Inn is a classic New England destination located on the waterfront in the heart of Bar Harbor. The Inn grew haphazardly from an 1887 shingle-style building to an 8-acre complex including hotel wings accommodating 150 guest rooms, a spa building, and a pool. LARK Studio has been working with the Inn for a decade on designing and implementing a campus plan that has included renovation and upgrades to circulation, parking, and building access. Additional phases of the plan have included a restaurant terrace, spa, hot tubs, patios, gardens, an infinity-edge pool, and a wedding lawn that looks out across the bay. Most recently LARK assisted in reconstruction of an oceanfront path and seawall that were washed out in winter storms, adding seating, terraces and extensive ornamental plantings along the path and around the buildings as part of the project.
